How is this related to Ubuntu?

Super OS is simply Ubuntu + additional software, but since it includes software not in the official repositories, I can't use the "Ubuntu" name.

The "base system" is also not modified (not counting with OFFICIAL Ubuntu updates).

How do you make Super OS?

I used to make it with remastersys, but now I make it with reconstructor.

Can I upgrade from a version of Super OS to another?

Is there an x64 version?

Not at the momment, but that is planned for version 10.04: http://hacktolive.org/blog/2010/super-os-10-04-will-have-x64-64-bits-edition/

Will I still be getting updates from the official Ubuntu repositories?

Yes, you have access to all the official updates and software, in the future, more repos might be added, but the official ones will be always be there.

Can you make a CD?

  • Q: Can't you make Super OS fit on one CD?
