runz2self can convert .runz files into a pure self-extracing file that does not require the RUNZ framework to run. It uses makeself in the backend.

Requirements

• RUNZ Framework 0.8.9.8+
• zenity (already included in GNOME) (Ubuntu and Super OS already include GNOME)

Supported distos/OSes

runz2self was tested on:

• Ubuntu 9.04
• Super OS 9.04

Issues/limitations

• While runz2self seems to work with all the .runz files, the resulting self-extracing files will not have support for the RUNZ sandbox (this is being investigated)
• While runz2self is creating the file it will not display the progress, it will only display a dialog when the file is ready (this is being investigated)
