Super OS number 1 on DistroWatch (7 days span)
January 03, 2010It is with great joy that I announce that Super OS is at this momment (3rd of January, 2009) ranked number 1 on DistroWatch, in the 7 days span!
On the 1st of January I noticed it was #2, (Ubuntu was #1), but I never expected it to pass the “father” Ubuntu!
Of course it will go very down on the ranking once the release news of Super OS 9.10 gets old, but still… VERY impressing, in fact: freaking awesome!
Note: Keep in mind this ranking only counts the number of hits/vists the DistroWatch page about Super OS had (it does not count number of downloads nor the number of installations nor anything else)
PS: I did not used any “hacking tools” (nor anything similar to that) to get high rankings.
Update: other websites also reported it (some not in English):

I have been keeping a eye on the distro on distrowatch and seen its popularity increase over the current week or so, i downloaded it burned it to disk.
On trying the live cd i was impressed it been the only distro i have used so for that boots spot on with out having to disable stuff and it runs great on my laptop after installing to hdd, my card reader and fn-keys even work where they wouldnt on windows 7.
Great work man keep it up.

hey it will be great if you can make some kind of NLITE for ubuntu , so ppl can make their own super OS or please leave a link with a export file from synaptic so we can install all software need it to turn ubuntu in super OS.
if anybody knows how to make that please email me.

hacktolive says:
The closest thing to “nlite for Ubuntu” is remastersys. An export file for Synaptic would not be useful because you would need the Super OS repository. However, you can install the Super OS repository, and then install the “super-os” package: This will install all the software included in Super OS

Agree with goofa6641 – better experience than Windows7, Live CD works with both my Acer laptops (Aspire 7520 and Travelmate 2423) from Wireless, Video and sound down to Bluetooth and ENECIR support.
I will be loading Super OS on all my machines in the near future and running my old Windows systems as VMs.
Good luck for the future, and thanks.

Congratulations on SUPER OS being number one! I certainly appreciate you creating an OS that is nearly 100% plug and play on my Lenovo 3000 N100. (no webcam except in Skype) No other Linux OS comes close. I have no Linux skills other than installing it to a flash drive and booting up. Super OS is truly a masterpiece of ease of use and performance. Why couldn’t Bill Gates after all these years get it right with win-blows? Why does he charge for defective buggy software? I don’t get it. Thanks for the best OS ever.
