Super OS 10.04 will have x64 (64 bits) edition
February 14, 2010Good news! The upcoming Super OS (formerly: Super Ubuntu), version 10.04, will also be available in a x64 version.
I just found out someone from my family has a x64 computer, and I can it use to build Super OS 10.04
It should be very similar to the 32 bits version, but I will probably add the “ia32-libs” package, to improve compatibility with 32 bits applications…
Any further ideas or suggestions for the x64 version?

Hey thanks for the e-mail and link! Took a while for a response but greatful for it.
I noticed in 9.10 when using firefox it would seem to glitch video wise where it doesn’t in the live ubuntu. I would imagine it’s either java or flash as it happened on a java based internet game.

Yes, probably a Java (or Flash) issue

I tried running 9.10 off the disk onto another computer, and the resolution for the monitor was all messed. up. So maybe some extra resolution options. At 1024 x 768 it was trying to do 61 hertz refresh rate.

If you installed Nvidia or ATI closed drivers you will have problems running your HDD/LiveUSB on other computers. I can’t add “some extra resolution options”, you would have to ask the Ubuntu developers…

I can sure see there are people patiently (or impatiently) waiting for this! What is the status on the 32 and 64 bit versions of the 10.04?

Just curious – can you do an update from 32bit to 64 bit or is it better to do a clean install?
hacktolive says:
As far as I know, it is not possible to update without a clean install
